Public Health Offering Free FluMist Clinics to School Age Children Throughout October
JUNEAU, Wis. — Dodge County Public Health is offering free FluMist clinics throughout the month of October, providing a convenient, needle-free option for school-age children up to 18 years old to receive their seasonal influenza vaccine. FluMist is a nasal spray vaccine approved to help protect against seasonal influenza.
The clinics will be held every Friday in October from 8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. at the Dodge County Public Health office, 199 County Road DF in Juneau.
Health care experts continue to recommend annual flu vaccination as the best defense against seasonal influenza. Getting vaccinated helps reduce the risk of illness, hospitalization, and the spread of flu within families, workplaces, schools and the community.
No appointments are necessary, vaccines will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis. The vaccines are free and available to individuals with or without insurance. Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
For those who are unable to attend on Fridays, Dodge County Public Health will also offer after-hours FluMist clinics on:
- Thursday, Oct. 29, from 3–7 p.m.
- Tuesday, Nov. 10, from 3–7 p.m.
- Saturday, Nov. 14, from 8–11 a.m.
