Chairman Comer Seeks Testimony from Democrat Operatives Who Plotted to Rig Alaska Senate Race

WASHINGTON—House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) today launched an investigation into allegations that the Mary Peltola campaign recruited challenger candidates with a name nearly identical to incumbent U.S. Senator Dan Sullivan with the intent to confuse voters in the 2026 U.S. midterm elections. Chairman Comer is seeking transcribed interviews with Elisa Rios, the Peltola campaign’s former manager, and Jerid Kurtz, a Democrat operative also reported as being involved in the recruitment of the other “Dan Sullivans.”  Chairman Comer emphasizes that if they fail to appear voluntarily, the Committee will evaluate the use of compulsory process.

“Democrats are the party of fraud. Knowing they can’t win on the issues, Democrats schemed to rig the U.S. Senate election in Alaska by deliberately confusing voters. This is part of a broader pattern of misconduct by today’s Democrat Party. Our investigation into ActBlue, the Democrats’ online fundraising platform, exposed it illegally accepted foreign donations. Our investigation into rampant fraud in Minnesota’s taxpayer-funded social services programs revealed how Governor Walz and Attorney General Ellison allowed the theft to continue for years. Americans deserve answers about this latest attempt by Democrats to defraud the American people, and we will get them,” said Chairman Comer.
